About Us
We are a small company situated in Wolfsberg – a town in Austria – just in the middle of Europe. A team of enthusiastic pilots since decades in all fields of the flying sport joined together with the aim to create a new engine for the sport of powered paragliding.
The history and development of the EOS Engine brand:
In 2009, Roland Rampitsch the founder and CEO of our company together with his pilots team began developing the first two-stroke engine, the EOS 100. The first engines of this series were produced in 2011. This model, in a continuously improved and evolving version, remains in production to this day.
In 2015, we introduced the EOS 150 to offer a more powerful engine to our customers. This model is also still part of our product range and remains in production until today.
But now, let´s turn to the EOS QUATTRO:
The QUATTRO concept was entirely Roland´s idea, which he brought to life in 2015. At that time, all manufacturers in the paramotor industry were producing conventional two-stroke engines. It was therefore that we needed to develop something new, different, and above all, better.
After approximately three years of development, the first EOS QUATTRO with a displacement of 236 cc was completed. We produced 20 engines of this first version and sold them to selected customers as a beta test series. Following a few minor initial issues, the engines were extensively tested and achieved operating lifetimes of approximately 100 to 150 hours.
The feedback from our test customers was overwhelmingly positive. It quickly became evident that the core concept worked exceptionally well. Customers were impressed by the smooth operation, reliability, and overall design. The only area with room for improvement was power output.
For this reason, we were increasing the displacement to 276 cc - the power output was raised from the original 25 hp to more than 30 hp.
At the beginning of 2022, the first three prototypes of this new generation were built and successfully tested. In September 2023, the serial production officially began.
Naturally, not everything went smoothly from the start. There were technical challenges, assembly issues, and numerous details that required optimization. However, we were able to overcome every obstacle and create a highly robust, exclusive, and powerful product.
Today, the QUATTRO is known worldwide and is frequently described by customers as a true “game changer.” Its applications range from paramotors and trikes to light aircraft and modern drone systems
